To: The Company Brigade Commander
The undersigned request that Adam Holcomb be administratively discharged from the Army because of serious acts of misconduct. On July 30, 2012, Adam Holcomb was found guilty of assault and battery and two counts of maltreatment for using racial slurs and for improper use of force-dragging a subordinate on his back over 40 yards of gravel. Private Danny Chen was found dead with a bullet to his head after repeated acts of maltreatment by superiors such as Adam Holcomb. At the time he committed these offenses, Adam Holcomb was a sergeant, a non-commissioned officer in the Army.
The Army prides itself on being a diverse team that values respect, honor, and integrity. To live up to these values, Mr. Holcomb must be discharged from the Army. His misconduct has harmed the Army's reputation. If he remains in the Army, it will not only impact the morale of soldiers and the ability for the Army to serve as one, it will adversely affect recruitment and enlistment.
